This 4-week course will include clay preparation and throwing techniques including centring, raising, how to form shapes, turning/trimming (such as removing any excess clay on your pots and creating a foot ring using a variety of turning tools), attaching handles and glazing your final pieces.
You will have made several functional pieces by the end of the workshop which will be returned to you within 2 weeks from the end of your course.
Each class will have a small group of 6 people.

- 4 x 2-hour classes
- Up to 8kg Clay
- Use of all the equipment you will need
- A large range of glazes
- Firing costs
- An apron to wear in class

Tina Wheatley is a local ceramic artist who has been making things with clay for 20+ years, making both functional and sculptural works. She enjoys sharing what she has learnt on her clay journey with others, demonstrating hand-building and wheel-throwing techniques to help her students realise their dream project, whilst having fun playing with clay.
